Consideremos, por ejemplo, la conciencia en la figura de una intuición sensible, como ésta de este libro aquí. El objeto de esta intuición sensible (en sentido amplio) es este libro aquí, y es mentado como este objeto sensible. Este libro aquí, según la opinión de la intuición sensible el ente en sí, es sin embargo “también” intuido y “es” por ello como intuido al mismo tiempo por cierto “para ella”, a saber para la conciencia que intuye. En el “en sí” como lo así mentado enteramente legítimo, se encuentra sin embargo el “ser-para-ella (la conciencia)” del en sí.
La objetividad no es ella misma nada, sino algo tal que hasta ahora y continuamente sólo permaneció desconocido al intuir sensible. La objetividad del objeto es, en tanto sale por encima de todo objeto conocido y habitual, algo “nuevo”. Si acaso la objetividad misma es expresamente representada y mentada, entonces ella es “el nuevo objeto”. El ser objeto del objeto (libro) se determina a través del ser-para-la conciencia del libro y parece precisamente no ser otra cosa que el saber acerca del libro en el modo del intuir al mismo.
La conciencia es conciencia como “Fenomenología”. Pero porque la conciencia es el saber que aparece, mas el saber absoluto de sí es el espíritu, la Fenomenología es esencialmente “la Fenomenología del espíritu”. En el curso de su aparecer la conciencia, porque se destaca en el regreso, es esencialmente una “inversión”. Pero si la inversión es nuestra “intervención” para con el “mirar”, entonces esta intervención no agrega nada extraño a la conciencia. Sólo lleva el mirar a la realización de su más íntima esencia.
