Kurtzman did go on to create several other humor magazines aiming for an elusive adult audience, including Trump, which lasted only two issues; followed by Humbug (1958); and finally—with some obvious desperation—Help! (1960 to 1965). And then, when I look back at the artwork, it mostly is inappreciable because it is small/printed on junk paper/a dramatic drawing of someone's eye. Her hangout during this interval — expected to be three months, but ultimately, twenty-three — was her parents' home in Reading, Pennsylvania.

The calendar does record an interesting transformation in Silver Horn’s sense of time. On the contrary, Moore overwhelms us with detailed information of which we can mostly only understand the point afterwards. This is possible because of the structure of the Japanese narrative. Though widely admired by comic aficionados today, Fletcher’s style was an eccentric anomaly, a path not taken in the longer trajectory toward greater naturalism in adventure comics. But, bedridden in his hotel room with fever, he faces the absolute solitude of one suffering in a foreign land, deprived of any immediate or familiar recourse.
