The high end of the recommended temperature range on packages is usually too high for tastiest cider. I’d recommend keeping your vessel in the 60-65F range for best results. Most closed their doors and abandoned their vineyards. If your pallet demands a particular grape by a particular company then stick with that. It is made by distilling wine or brandy and is sometimes called "eau de vie." Proof is a measure of alcoholic strength, not necessarily of quality.
